<em><a href="http://www.amazon.com/National-Audubon-Society-American-Mushrooms/dp/0394519922">The National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Mushrooms</a></em> states that their season is July-September and their range is Quebec to Florida and west to the great lakes.<br />
Seems this fetid wood debris dweller is making an appearance two months early.<br />
I&#8217;ve never seen their like in western central Indiana before.</p>
